DEFINITION
Under DAP, the seller arranges and pays the transport to a named place of destination and delivers when the goods arrive there, on the arriving vehicle, ready for unloading. The seller carries the risk all the way, so insuring the transport is in its own interest even though DAP does not require it.
The buyer unloads the goods and handles import clearance, duties and import VAT. That is the difference with DDP, where the seller also clears and pays at import.
DAP is common for road deliveries inside the EU: the seller organises the truck to the customer's warehouse. For an intra-EU sale, the transport arranged by the seller also supports the proof that the goods left the country.
HOW KOLIBRA HELPS
Kolibra records the Incoterm and destination on each deal, tracks the shipment to delivery, and keeps the CMR and proof of delivery in the deal's dossier.
