DEFINITION
DOA, dead on arrival, describes a product that does not work when it is first unpacked and switched on. In B2B electronics, sales terms often include a DOA period, for example 7 or 14 days after delivery, during which a faulty unit is replaced or credited directly, without going through the manufacturer's warranty.
Suppliers usually ask for the serial number or IMEI, a description of the fault and the unit back in its original packaging, and only accept DOA claims made within the period. After it, the unit falls under warranty or the ordinary return process.
Tracking serial numbers from purchase to sale is what makes a DOA claim easy to prove: you can show the unit came from that supplier, in that delivery.
HOW KOLIBRA HELPS
Kolibra's proforma terms can state a DOA period, returns record DOA as their own reason, and serial numbers trace each unit back to its purchase.
